1970's Piaget "Tiger Eye" Tonneau

Sold

An immaculately preserved and righteous 1970’s Piaget with an iridescent Tiger Eye stone dial and automatic cal. 12P movement in solid and warm 18K yellow gold.

This Piaget holds no punches. It steps out and roars - pun very much intended. While lapis and onyx take center stage, Tiger Eye, is a stone that does not get as much credit. While it was easier to craft dials from this stone than others, having a look at this example may cause you to forget, temporarily, other dial materials even exist.

This example is as close to “New Old Stock” as possible without it having never been worn. Every facet, bevel and hammer finish is immaculately maintained. Its bracelet is as supple and silky as ever. After nearly 50 years, the yellow gold case and bracelet have even developed a warm rosy patina.

This watch is breath taking. It will fit a 7.4 inch wrist and the bracelet is uncut. Keeping great time and running well.
