Hi and welcome to Goldfinger’s.

That’s what my grandfather Major would say when folks strolled into his Newark, NJ based children’s furniture and clothing store, a brick and mortar shop that exited for nearly 75 years. If you saw a baby in the tri-state area before the year 2000, odds are their parents picked up their crib from his family store. Founded as Essex Bargain House, by his father Jacob, Major built that business into a local staple. He transformed it into not just a shop for home essentials, but eventually finding its niche as a children’s necessities shop for high quality clothing, furniture, decor and the like.

Now, what does children’s clothing and furniture have to do with watches? Not much however in my case, it’s the thread that connects so much of my life together. Major loved living. He spent his money traveling the world with the love of his life for 75 years and my grandmother, Mitzi, curating a personal collection of well made, rare and fine objects, art, glass, furniture, coins and most notably, watches. He instilled that passion within me and ever since I got my first watch at 10 years old at a birthday dinner, I have been wearing, collecting and yearning for the next piece ever since.

This vision of Goldfinger’s Vintage is the embodiment of decades of passion inspired by my grandfather, Major. This is my way of sharing my love for vintage timepieces as I once did with my grandfather - helping to feel connected to him as I delve deep to find treasure to curate for you. Watches are not only functional, but can be beautiful distinct pieces of design and expression. I hope to present you wristwatches and affinities that you may have not seen before at all price points; from the extremely collectible and practical, to the strange and unsung. All pieces curated here are glimpses of what my grandfather and I would bond over - a microcosm of both of our tastes.

I personally guarantee every watch is authentic, genuine and as described. I want to assure you I value disclosure, feedback and communication. Ask as many questions as you like about a piece you may be interested. Happy to chat.

With that, welcome to Goldfinger’s Vintage and please - stay a while.
