“White Pearl”

This is the famous Grand Seiko High Beat 6146-8000, one of the first iterations using the houses famed Grammar of Design principles.

"First, all surfaces and angles from the case, dial, hands, and indices had to be flat and geometrically perfect to best reflect light. Second, bezels were to be simple two-dimensional faceted curves. Third, no visual distortion was to be tolerated from any angle, and all cases and dials should be mirror-finished." Worn and Wound

These ideals are maintained in Grand Seiko's design ethos today.

This example, with day and date function at 3 o'clock, is one of the cleanest examples I have seen. The
porcelain dial is free of any abrasion and shimmers with an out of the factory glow. The case, while seeing modest wear, is sharp as freshly prepared knives, maintaining fine pointed edges. All of the polished surfaces shine like beacons and the brushed lug surfaces still have definitive factory lines. There are small indents on the case at the 9 o'clock case flank. Please see for photos.

The movement is buttery smooth to wind and set, with all complications operating as intended. The crown action is perfect in all positions. The watch runs well albeit probably 1 minute slow.

All components original to the watch include, dial, hands, crown, movement.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
