1940's Patek Philippe ref. 1450 "Top Hat" Solid Platinum
A magnificent 1940s Patek Philippe ref. 1450 “Top Hat” in a solid and sharp platinum case with its matching signed platinum AW and PPco signed buckle, a nearly untouched silver brushed dial adorned with factory set applied round and baguette cut diamonds, powered by the beautifully finished large rectangular manually wound Patek caliber 990.
The Patek Philippe ref. 1450 is well known but never achieved its well deserved flowers. Couldn’t tell you why. This case design is iconic and evokes the best of the later art deco period of design. With less than 40 platinum examples known to ever surface to market, this configuration is the rarest of the case metals from this reference range.
This watches case measures a pleasing 37x25mm at its widest.
Running well and setting smoothly.
Very little wear and absolutely sharp case and we believe a completely original and unrestored dial.
